Privacy policy.

What we collect, why we collect it, and the controls you have. Plain language only — no surprises.

1. Who this covers

This policy applies to Speedy Spin Dry Cleaning, owned and operated by Zainabu in Kampala, Uganda, and to three interlinked surfaces:

  • The Speedy Spin website at speedyspin.net — public marketing pages and the contact form.
  • The WhatsApp booking flow on +256 782 836 668 — how most customers arrange pickups.
  • The in-branch intake process at Kibuli and Namuwongo, where receptionists capture your details on the internal desktop system.

2. Information we collect

2.1 When you contact us

  • Contact form on the website: name, phone number, preferred branch, and your message. Used only to reply to your enquiry.
  • WhatsApp conversations: your phone number, display name, and the messages you send us. Held for as long as needed to complete your order plus 12 months for customer-service history.

2.2 When you drop off or book a pickup

  • Customer record: name, phone number, pickup address (if applicable), preferred branch, and the items you’ve given us. Stored in the Speedy Spin internal system so we can find your order at collection.
  • Intake photos: garments with existing stains or damage are photographed on receipt so we’re working from the same understanding when you collect. Photos are kept for 90 days after collection.
  • Payment records: mobile-money reference, card token (never the card number), or cash receipt number.

2.3 What we do NOT collect

  • Location data via the website
  • Photos, camera or microphone access from the website
  • Third-party advertising or analytics SDKs (no Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel, no Adjust / AppsFlyer)

3. How we use the information

  • To process and complete your order.
  • To send SMS notifications when your order is ready and WhatsApp receipts for payments.
  • To reply to enquiries from the website contact form.
  • To keep our internal records for accounting and to comply with Ugandan tax law.

We do not sell, rent or share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers.

4. Where the data lives

The Speedy Spin internal system runs on servers we operate. Backups are encrypted at rest. Website traffic uses HTTPS (TLS 1.2+) exclusively — we never permit cleartext traffic.

5. Third parties

We use a small set of service providers strictly to run the business:

  • Meta / WhatsApp Business API — when we send receipts and pickup confirmations over WhatsApp.
  • Mobile-money and card processors — for accepting payments.
  • Our hosting provider — for the website and internal system.

Each is bound by their own data-processing agreement and uses your data only to perform the task we ask of them.

6. How long we keep things

  • Contact-form enquiries: 24 months, then anonymised.
  • Customer records: for as long as you’re an active customer, plus 5 years after your last order for tax purposes.
  • Intake photos: 90 days after collection.

7. Your rights

You can, at any time:

  • Access the data we hold about you — email us at hello@speedyspin.net.
  • Correct your details — tell any Speedy Spin receptionist on your next visit, or WhatsApp us on +256 782 836 668.
  • Deleteyour customer record — email us and we’ll purge non-tax-mandated records within 30 days.

8. Children

Speedy Spin’s services and website are intended for adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, for customers who’ve opted in to WhatsApp updates, send a short notification.
