About

A neighbourhood dry cleaner, run properly.

Speedy Spin is founded and run by Zainabu, born in Kampala and tired of dry cleaners who don’t call back. Two branches — Kibuli and Namuwongo — one standard.

The story

Started because friends kept complaining their gomesi came back flat.

Zainabu grew up in Kampala, and like everyone here she’s had her share of dry-cleaning stories — the shirt returned with a mystery stain, the suit that came back an inch shorter, the promise of “ready tomorrow” that quietly became four days. The last straw was a wedding gomesi returned so flat you couldn’t see the embroidery. Something had to give.

Speedy Spin opened in Kibuli with a small counter, one press-machine and a very short list of promises: same-day turnaround if you drop by 10am, digital receipts on WhatsApp so nothing gets lost, and honest quotes before we start rather than surprises when you collect. Word spread fast around Kabalagala and Muyenga, and the queue for pickups outgrew a single branch inside a year.

The Namuwongo branch opened to serve the eastern suburbs — Bugolobi, Nsambya, the industrial area — and picked up hostel and hotel bedsheet contracts almost immediately. Two branches, one owner, one WhatsApp number, one standard.

Our process

Five short steps between your bag and clothes on the hanger.

  1. Speedy Spin pickup rider with a laundry bag (placeholder — swap for real photo)
    01

    Pickup

WhatsApp your address on +256 782 836 668. Our driver confirms a 30-minute window and texts on approach.

  2. Garments being counted and tagged at the counter (placeholder — swap for real photo)
    02

    Intake

Every garment is counted, tagged and photographed on arrival. Existing stains or damage get noted so nothing is lost.

  3. Colourful towels tumbling inside a commercial washing-machine drum
    03

    Wash / dry-clean

Fresh solvent for dry cleaning, sorted colours for laundry. Delicate garments are hand-treated before the main cycle.

  4. Cleaned garments on the ready-rail with shelf numbers (placeholder — swap for real photo)
    04

    Ready

You get an SMS with the shelf number and total; walk in and grab your bag, or ask us to deliver back to your door.

  5. Customer collecting a bag of clean clothes (placeholder — swap for real photo)
    05

    Return

Delivered on the hanger where it makes sense, folded neatly where it doesn’t. WhatsApp receipt lands the same minute.

Our promises

What we mean when we say fast, local and trusted.

Fast, honestly

“Same day” means the same day, not tomorrow. We’ll tell you before you drop if a piece needs longer.

Local, on purpose

Kibuli and Namuwongo are our neighbourhoods — our drivers live in them, our contracts hire from them, our tea comes from around the corner.

Trusted, item by item

Every garment is tagged, photographed on intake and insured up to UGX 500,000. No excuses when something goes wrong.

About Speedy Spin · FAQ

Who we are, and how we work.

The questions customers ask most when they’re thinking of trying us for the first time.

Speedy Spin is founded and run by Zainabu, a Kampala-based entrepreneur who opened the first branch in Kibuli after years of hearing friends complain that their suits came back yellowed and their gomesi came back flat. The Namuwongo branch followed as demand grew across the eastern suburbs.
